1963-ban születtem Győrött. A főiskolai diploma megszerzése után 1992-ben fejeztem be a Magyar Iparművészeti Főiskola Mesterképző Intézetében tanulmányaimat. Reklámgrafikusként az Ogilvy & Mather és a DDB Needham reklámügynökségeknél dolgoztam. 1996-tól saját grafikai stúdiómon, a Solymár Stúdión keresztül vállalok különböző megbízásokat. A kiadvány és reklámgrafikai tervezések mellett díszleteket, festményeket és soksorosított grafikai munkákat (rézkarcot, linóleum metszetet) is készítek.
Barcsik Géza 
I was born in 1963 in Győr, in Hungary. After graduating from college I finished my studies in 1992 in the Master’s Institute os Hungarian School of Arts and Crafts. I worked as a graphic desingner at the Ogilvy & Mather and DDB Needham advertising agencies. Since 1996 I have been completing various project sin my own graphic studio, called Studio Solymár. Besides producing publication and advertising graphic designes I also make sceneries, paintings and multiplied graphic works like linoleum engravings and etchings.
Géza Barcsik  A hagyomány Barcsik Géza számára egykori táltosaink hitvilága, pásztorfaragásaink ornamentikája, s a magyar történelem századai jelentik, de a tradíció Nála nem dőltbetüs múltidézés, hanem felelős szembenézés mindazokkal a kérdésekkel, amelyekre ma és holnap választ kell adnunk. Vérbeli festő, bensőséges átéléssel, színekben, terekben képekben való gondolkodással. Nem történeteket mesél el, s nem illusztrál, hanem képeket idéz, s a kép hat elementáris erővel. Nonfiguratív vásznaira ugyanúgy érvényes ez, mint a lendületes vonalakkal pillanatok alatt rajzolt Rembrandt portréja, vagy a szibériai sámándobok motívumait felelevenítő lemezborítóira. A kép teljesebb, mint a gondolat, a világ s a másvilág, a haza, a szomszédok, a pillanat és az évezredek együtt jelennek meg, s a pólusok egyensúlyt és távlatot adnak piktúrájának.

For Barcsik Géza tradition means the long past shamanistic word of beliefs, ornamentation of the shepherd’wood carvings and all centuries of hungarian history, not recalling the past for its own sake, but responsibly facing gall those questions that are to be answered today and tomorrow. He is revitable painter with deep feelings who expresses himself in colours, spaces and images. He is neither telling stories not illustrating anything but evoking images which makeban extremely strong impreisson. This applies not only to his nonfigurative pictures but also to his Rembrandt portrait drawn with dinamic lines in a matter of minutes as well as to his cover designs reciving the motifs of the siberian shamanistic drums. The image is more complete than the thought: this word and the together and give balance and perspective to his art.
